Locations

Nolichucky River

Fish the finest Smallmouth waters that the region has to offer. Spring, early summer, and fall are ideal times to fish this free flowing river. Adequate rain and water levels can mean great fishing even in late summer!

Watauga & South Holston Rivers

The Watauga River boasts the famous “Trophy Section” for rainbow trout. Come fish a trout river where you can fish caddis, mayfly, or midge imitations. And if you’re up for the challenge of casting streamers, the Watauga offers some big browns that would make for the fish of a lifetime!

The South Holston is one of the east’s most technical rivers. Matching the hatch is everything, and when you connect, the beautiful Honey Do Browns are a fish that will never leave your memory! This river is famous for its Sulpher Hatch in the spring and BWO hatch during late fall and winter.

FLOAT TRIP-$200-$400

Float trips, for many, are the preferred way to be on the river. Floating gives you the opportunity to cover as much area as possible. This style of trip allows to you sit back at times and enjoy the beautiful Tennessee country you are floating through. It’s also a great way to get to the places where you cannot get wading. We often anchor and fish areas as we move downstream, and in some areas will get out and wade fish. Water levels on the Nolichucky are not always conducive for floating and wade trips are a much better option during these times. Watauga is almost always floatable and the South Holston is only floatable during release.

Legacy Anglers & MRG will make sure that you have the gear for your trip. We provide rods, leaders, tippet and seasonal patterns that fit with the river you are fishing. We understand for many people that your gear is something you are comfortable with, like an old pair of boots, and we encourage you to use your own rods, waders and even a pattern that you know and love. In ways, this can help you have a more productive day by not having to get used to a different rod. We would like for you to understand that by choosing to bring your own equipment you accept all responsibility for this and we are not liable for lost or damaged equipment. We do have a limited size range of wading boots and waders; fortunately, wet wading is an option a good amount of the time during the summer. Which can be refreshing during the summer! We do suggest that if you have your own waders and boots to bring them.

Pricing

•Full Day (4-6hours)-1 person: $300 / 2 person: $400
• 1/2 Day-1 person(3-4 hours): $200 / 2 person: $300

WADE TRIP-$175-$300

Wading trips can be one the best ways to target fish. Taking your time and being able to dissect a smaller section of river, allows you a great way to catch your fish. It’s a great way to slow down your experience enjoying the water around you and keeping your attention focused on what’s right there in front of you. As the “dog days” of summer come on the Smallmouth fishing on rivers kicks into high gear. The Nolichucky is typically at a good wade level and nothing beats an afternoon going after Smallies with afternoon moving into evening.
